For those installing OutRun: Amiga Edition on the A600GS or A500 Mini, here's a guide and some additional support files. 

This doesn't negate the need to download the original project files and follow those instructions.

First you need to transfer the extracted files (see below) onto the OutRun_Amiga_Edition.hdf file. To do so, run WinUAE (or your emulator of choice) with your default Workbench and access to those files, but also add the hardfile OutRun_Amiga_Edition.hdf as harddrive. Add the following files to the OutRun Amiga Edition: disk:

• audio/pcm.bin
• audio/pcm_engine.bin
• gfx/road1.bin
• gfx/road2.bin
• gfx/sprites.bin
• gfx/tiles.bin

A500 Mini

Copy the following files to the root of your USB stick:

• OutRun_Amiga_Edition.hdf
• OutRun_Amiga_Edition.LHA
• OutRun_Amiga_Edition_ol.uae

Please note:

• Don't change the .LHA to lowercase, it needs to be uppercase or this won't work.
• Avoid changing the configuration (like button mapping, etc.) in the A500 Mini Config Menu itself as this will result in an non-working OutRun_Amiga_Edition_ol.uae. You'll have to do changes manually by editing OutRun_Amiga_Edition_ol.uae in a text editor.
• If you prefer to have these files in some subfolder you can do so, but you'll need to edit OutRun_Amiga_Edition_ol.uae and change the path to OutRun_Amiga_Edition.hdf accordingly.

A600 GS

Of course you can run the game from AmiBench which is straightforward. But if you'd like to launch it directly from the main menu, this is the way to go:

Click "Add" and "Import Hard Disk File", then choose OutRun_Amiga_Edition.hdf from wherever you've put it. Use the following settings:
